About

Powell Symphony Hall is the historic home of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, opened in 1925 as the St. Louis Theatre and rechristened for the orchestra after a 1968 renovation. Following a major expansion and restoration completed in September 2025 as part of the Jack C. Taylor Music Center, the hall now features 2,150 seats with improved accessibility and amenities. Set in the Grand Center arts district alongside landmarks like the Fox Theatre, it hosts orchestral concerts, the St. Louis Speakers Series, and other civic events.

SLSO operates a prepaid lot immediately east of Powell Hall (access via Samuel Shepard Dr. and Delmar Blvd.), with 20 ADA spaces; designated rideshare drop-off is on Delmar, and additional lots/garages are available throughout Grand Center.

Public transit

MetroBus Route 70 (Grand) serves Grand Blvd. for easy connection to the venue; the nearest MetroLink light-rail stop is Grand Station, with a short bus connection up Grand. The Symphony Shuttle also runs from Plaza Frontenac for select concerts.
